The Nikon D800

I am unashamedly a Nikon Ambassador. I would not have agreed to become one if I did not have complete faith in the brand. I love the fact that Nikon asks us what we want, then listen to what we have to say. First the D4, and now the newly announced D800, (the specs of which are mind blowing). 1. I know you guys (serious photojourns/documentary photogs) don’t like to get into what gear you’re using, but as you brought it up ;-), what do you choose to shoot with?

D800 looks very interesting and incredibly well priced for what it offers. I was disappointed not to see an updated D700 – something more of an all rounder – but maybe that’ll come in time.

  2. Hi Tim, I use a mix of Nikon gear. The D3s is my main body, with a D700 as backup, (or occasionally the D7000). Even though I have built up a good number of lenses over the years, my go to kit comprises a 24-70mm f2.8, 70-200mm f2.8 and 35mm f1.4 & 85mm f1.4. In the field I pretty much stick to the D3s, 24-70mm f2.8 and 35mm f1.4. I will be looking at both the D4 and D800 as soon as they come available. Hope this helps.
